Washington Symphonic Brass

The Washington Symphonic Brass : “Brass at the Opera!
Saturday, May 31, 7:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s
Michael Rossi, conducting

The majestic sounds of brass have always been a part of famous operas from such composers  as Puccini, Verdi, Strauss, Bizet and Wagner.  Join the Washington Symphonic Brass for this special program that moves them to a new sonic spectrum.

Even if you’ve never experienced these operas, you’ll be thrilled by this concert of opera themes that have made their way into American pop culture.  Rossini’s Barber of Seville, Verdi’s Anvil Chorus, and Wagner’s Ride of the Valkuries  have all been used in Bugs Bunny cartoons and beyond.

Members of the Annapolis Chorale under the direction of J. Ernest Green make an appearance for several pieces on the program!

No matter what your reference point might be for these tunes, audiences of all ages will have a great time at this special concert in the wonderful acoustics of St. Anne’s!

Tickets are $30 for adults (plus a $3 per-ticket service charge).  Students attend FREE.
They will also be sold at the door.
