It’s “a welcome to summer,” “a season finale celebration” or “a concert just because we like to make music.” We don’t want the season to end!
So we’re doing a one-night music festival! Like our Thursday series, this is casual, fun and a chance to hear some great performances right downtown in Annapolis.
We welcome J. Ernest Green’s good friend from Italy, Stefano Vignati, who will conduct the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and our special guests soprano Jessica Marsten, guitarist Piotr Pakhomkin and organist Larry Molinaro. How did Ernie meet Stefano? See below!
On the program are works by three mega composers:
– Antonio Vivaldi’s beautiful guitar Concerto d major with Piotr
– Handel’s Organ Concerto in F major with Larry
– Mozart’s “Exultate Jubilate” with Jessica, who’s performing with us for the first time! (She has Peabody ties!)
No Special Evening Out is complete without food and drink and this is no exception. Live Arts Maryland and the Friends of the Annapolis Chorale will host a post-performance reception at the church to give everyone a chance to meet the evening’s performers.
How did they meet?
Ernie and Stefano met last summer when Ernie journeyed to Viterbo, Italy, to conduct the Festival Barocco di Viterbo. The two became fast friends and since Stefano is in the United States, Ernie invited him to come sample life in Annapolis and conduct a concert with the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra while he’s here. Happily, he said yes. Ernie says, “I’m really happy that Stefano will be joining us for this concert. He is a wonderful conductor and I think the orchestra and audience alike will really enjoy getting to know him and seeing him work.”
Come on down and have a truly Annapolis musical evening!
