Mozart’s final work, the Requiem in d minor, has been shrouded in mystery for centuries.  Left unfinished at the time of his death, Mozart’s final work has become a favorite in the repertoire.  In the deft hands of Maestro J. Ernest Green and performed by the Annapolis Chorale, Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and guest soloists, Mozart’s masterpiece will be a sublime experience.  Come join us for this musical celebration of All Souls Day that includes:

F. Poulenc           Concerto for organ (with Larry Molinaro, soloist)
O. Gjeilo              Dark Night of the Soul

This brand new concert celebrates one of America’s most successful and prolific composers who had countless hits on the stage and in film.  Maestro J. Ernest Green, the Annapolis Chorale and Annapolis Chamber Orchestra perform the music of Marvin Hamlisch along with very special guests who are some of New York’s finest entertainers (and Marvin’s favorites).  All students are invited to attend this concert FREE!

This longest running regional holiday event AND a beloved local tradition, is what holiday cheer is all about.  We’ve got your favorite carols “being sung by a choir” – a very big choir – the Annapolis Chorale and los of musical cheer with the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra all conducted by J. Ernest Green!  Our very special guests are violinist Jenny Oaks Baker and former Celtic Woman vocalist Alex Sharpe.  Get your tickets early because it’s one night only!

It’s just not the holidays without hearing the Hallelujah Chorus and there’s no better way to experience it than LIVE with the Annapolis Chorale Chamber Chorus, the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and guest soloists under the direction of J. Ernest Green.  Your heart will warm and your spirit soar when this music surrounds you in beautiful St. Anne’s Church in historic Annapolis.  The Friday and Saturday performances include Part I and selections from Parts II and III.   Sunday afternoon’s performance includes Part I (the “Christmas Portion”) plus a carol sing-along with J. Ernest Green.  Seating is limited so get your tickets early. All students are invited to attend this concert FREESample the Hallelujah Chorus!

We’re leaving winter behind and heading to the territory of Oklahoma for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s beloved musical.  There’ll be “a bright golden haze on the meadow” when Curly, Laurie, Aunt Eller and Jud recall life in the territory where cowmen and cowboys live, work and play together.  The musical is full of some of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s best songs, “People Will Say We’re in Love,” “Cain’t Say No,” “Out of My Dreams” and, of course, “Oklahoma!” All students are invited to attend this concert FREE!

Was it the first example of “surround sound” in a choral performance?  Monteverdi’s 1610 setting of the Vespers service changed church music forever.  Adding operatic drama to church music and with trumpets fanfares, multiple choruses, soloists and an orchestra changed music forever.  Maestro J. Ernest Green conducts the Annapolis Chorale Chamber Chorus and members of the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra in the perfect acoustics of historic St. Anne’s in the heart of historic Annapolis. All students are invited to attend this concert FREE!

Music for a New World, Part II 
April 8, 8 p.m.
at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts
We made our first journey into Music for a New World last season and we continue it now with new works for chorus and orchestra that have become favorites of singers and instrumentalists.  Beautiful and evocative by themselves, they are, in fact, connected in some surprising ways to the classics works we perform earlier in the season.  Once you experience them for yourself, you’ll want to hear them again and again.
