The American Songbook grew up in New York City with the amazing talent of generations of composers who created a musical tapestry that is as alive and fresh today as it was when the ink on the pages was still wet.

We celebrate the American Songbook in this concert that features the music of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Jerome Kern and others who turned out song after song that became part of our collective musical memory and are  “timeless classics.”  Everyone will be able to hum along with these songs that recall a mood, an event, a time in your life.

To help celebrate, we welcome one of the greatest interpreters of Gershwin, “America’s Pianist,” Kevin Cole.    Click HERE to experience some of his amazing Rhapsody in Blue!  We also welcome two of your favorite performers, Jason Buckwalter and Kimberly Christie, both veterans of many of our Broadway in Annapolis productions as well as our classical concerts.  Wonderful singers with tons of charisma, these two are big fans of the American Songbook and sing it very well!
