“The Fantasticks” is the longest running production of any kind in the history of American theatre. What’s the key to its continued success and popularity? Great story and great music. Live Arts Maryland kicks off its 2010-2011 season with two Broadway in Annapolis performances of “The Fantasticks” on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24-25, at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.
Live Arts Maryland Music Director J. Ernest Green is thrilled to open the season with this Broadway show. “We attract exceptional artists for our productions and this is a dream cast. Each one of them is a gifted soloist and actor in their own right and this combination of talent and energy is creating a great show. Catrin Davies is doing the staging and directing and she’s giving it an updated, contemporary feel while keeping the whimsical flavor of the original production. It will be great.”
