Annapolis Youth Chorus
Love to Sing?
Looking to improve your vocal skills, learn more about singing in cool and creative ways and perform with professional musicians? Then the AYC is for you! Conducted by music educator and trained singer Laurie J. Hays, the AYC is open to all young singers in 8th through 12th grade, or ages 12-18.
This season, AYC singers have the chance to perform with six of Broadway’s best performers during the September 21 Tribute to Marvin Hamlisch. They will also sing with the Annapolis Chorale in December’s Celebration of Christmas concert, featuring Grammy-nominated violinist Jenny Oaks Baker and Alex Sharpe from Celtic Woman. More information is here.
New for this year, AYC singers will get to work with Annapolis Chorale Music Director J. Ernest Green and guest artists during the season! These workshops and master classes are a great opportunity for young singers who want to work with some of the best in the business!
Now in its 13th season, the AYC is part of the Live Arts Maryland family of performing ensembles and is the cornerstone of the music education program. The AYC helps kids develop a life-long love of music, while teaching them fundamentals of healthy voice training and strong musicianship.
The AYC sings everywhere, from a Bowie Baysox game to Carnegie Hall and, most recently, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for the National Memorial Day Choral Festival under the direction of Dr. Z. Randall Stroope.
